The last decade from middle 80's has witnessed rather great changes in produce, composition and phsical chemical characters of domestic refuse in Beijing. The main characteristics of these changes are:

a. Decrease in density (1~0.67 t/sq.)

b. Increase in calorific value (3300~4470 kj/kg)

c. Increase in recyclable material (33~75%)

e. Emerge of bulky waste (1%)
